Fire Emblem: Three Houses – Cindered Shadows Trailer and Speculations

The final content from the Fire Emblem: Three Houses Expansion Pass adds a new side story about a secret house – and fans love it.

The Fourth House, Ashen Wolves, is a secret group located deep underground in a place called Abyss. The Abyss is made up of tunnels and pathways and is known as the secret shadow of Garreg Mach. It is home to 4 new students, all of whom Byleth can take under their wing. The line up includes the muscular hothead Balthus, the reserved pessimist Hapi, the lady-like Constance and the effeminate yet charming Yuri.

The new characters come from ‘all walks of life’ and have a varied set of appearance and classes that are NOT available in the base game:

Constance is a Dark Flier, a pegasus-rider class who can use magic.

Hapi is a Troubadour, a healer on horseback who can also use magic.

Balthus looks to be Grappler but could be a different class as he is shown shooting magic at his enemies.

And last but not least, Yuri. He uses a sword in the trailer but his appearance and demeanour are that of a lord similar to the other house leaders, Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude. As the other three are proficient in axes, lances and bows respectively, it makes sense that Yuri would be a sword-user

This side story is set pre-timeskip as Byleth and the other students can be seen in their younger attire.

Apart from the reveal of a new class, it seems that there is some sort of conflict as shown in the trailer, Constance says that people above have been targeting those living in the abyss. Although we won’t know more until it comes out, we do know that you will be fighting against, as well as alongside students from other houses.

The DLC, Cindered Shadows is set to release on February 14 2020. However, the Nintendo website suggests content will be released by April 2020. This could mean that we could be seeing a few more bonus content in the near future.
