Fields of Mistria 1.0: Everything We Spotted in the Announcement Trailer

, ,

From initial scepticism to becoming one of my favourite comfort games, Fields of Mistria has come a long way. Join me as we break down the 1.0 Announcement Trailer and look at everything coming in the full release.

When Fields of Mistria was first announced back in 2023, I was skeptical of it. It looked like everything I loved about Stardew Valley but with a gorgeous ’90s anime aesthetic. Yet, I couldn’t help but think, was it just a copy with a shiny new coat painted on top?

But when Early Access came out, I decided to take the plunge – and fell in love with it. Every major update gave me a reason to come back, whether it was new events, areas or even quality of life improvements. I could feel how much care NPC Studio put into the game and I was completely hooked.

Now after almost 2 years in Early Access, Fields of Mistria is finally releasing 1.0 and a brand-new announcement trailer was revealed with features that players have been clamouring for.

Before we break down the announcement trailer, let’s take a quick look at how Fields of Mistria evolved throughout Early Access.

NPC Studio were very consistent in releasing patch notes to keep fans updated but there were 4 major versions that were released in the last 2 years (spoiler-free):

The First Major Update (November 18, 2024) added 6 Heart Events, a new festival (Shooting Star Festival), mounts and Tier 4 skills.

The Second Major Update (March 10, 2025) introduced one of the secret romanceable characters, introduction of the Deep Woods, the Animal Festival and a lot of QoL additions.

The Third Major Update (July 10, 2025) finally added 8 Heart Events which included the confession scene which allowed the option of being “Best Friends” or “Dating” as well as Green House, Harvest Festival and the new vendor, Taliffero.

The Fourth and final Major Update (February 23, 2026) which finally completed the Mine questline, as well as introducing the secret bachelorette.

All of these updates, along with countless quality of life improvements and bug fixes in between, showed the team’s commitment to shaping Fields of Mistria alongside its community.

Now, with the full release coming out in just 3 days, we’ll finally see their vision in full bloom.

So what new things can we expect in 1.0?

Marriage and 10 Heart Events

Field of Mistria 1.0 Announcement Trailer showing March's marriage scene with the dialogue, "Seeing you all dressed up like this... it's kind of unfair."
Of course, NPC Studio had to include one of the most popular bachelorettes in her suave wedding outfit.

The most exciting feature that most have been patiently waiting for is the completion of Heart Events as well as finally being able to marry your chosen bachelor or bachelorette. Of course that means that the cap has been raised to 10 Hearts so we will get to experience each character’s full love story.

As they mentioned before, even though you are allowed to date all the romanceable characters once you hit 8 hearts, you can only marry one so it seems likely that the marriage system will follow familiar life-sim traditions, although the exact mechanics have yet to be revealed.

And of course, this includes…

Children!

Field of Mistria 1.0 Announcement Trailer showing Juniper talking to the player character and holding her child with the dialogue, "Rune is obsessed with anything I use in my magic! It's like she already knows what all of it does."
I love how motherhood doesn’t stop Juniper’s hustle.

They also slipped in a quick scene of the player character talking to Juniper, who is seen holding a young baby, with similar hair and eye colour. It seems that each character will have their own unique sprite with their child, but I wonder if it will purely look like them or if they will be able to inherit any qualities from the player character? But this shows that each marriage experience will be unique from one another which will give the game more replayability and encourage players to experience different romances on future playthroughs.

New Vendors coming to the Saturday Market

Field of Mistria 1.0 announcement trailer showing the new Saturday Market vendor Stillwell with the dialogue, "Hey Ari. Hmm? No, we haven't met before."
Oh no… he’s hot!

Two new vendors will be joining the Saturday Market, Stillwell (pictured above) and Zorrel. It’s not stated what items or services he will be selling, but from the fact that his stall gives me vibes similar to Juniper and her Bathhouse, I speculate that it will be related to magic (maybe fortune-telling that affects your luck or magical items that can improve your daily activities?)

Completion of the Main Story Quest

Field of Mistria 1.0 Announcement Trailer showing Linnet with the dialogue, "The moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived."

This wasn’t explicitly stated in the trailer and was more of a clever segue to announce the release of 1.0 but we’re given a small scene of a never-seen before character called Linnet, mother of Adeline and Eiland. Of course, as NPC Studio have stated that the game and storylines will be completed as originally envisioned, I can only speculate that this is when the player finally completes the main story’s quest of bringing the town back to its prime.

In addition, there will be more quests to the mine, full access to the full skill tree and house upgrades and much more that you can read on their latest roadmap on their website.

NPC Studio have shown a clear vision from start to finish so I’m sure they’ve added nothing but the best for the 1.0 release and have stated that there will be more to come. And I believe it because they’ve shown time and time again that they can deliver.

Fields of Mistria has become one of my favourite comfort games, and I’m excited to return to Mistria once the 1.0 update arrives. After following the game’s journey through Early Access, I can’t wait to see how NPC Studio’s vision comes together—and I’ll be sharing my full review once I’ve had the chance to experience everything the final release has to offer!

Fields of Mistria 1.0 releases on August 5, 2026 and is available on Steam.
